The monk that speaks from the fire. The words that slip away. What's in a mirror? We would like to see the difference between missiles and fireworks. Other refractions. Volcano goes, breaths echo, and the ocean churns away. Churning of the Ocean was first developed as a projection installation consisting of sound and visuals, including found footage and site-specific text, and was exhibited at UKAI Projects.

Husna Farooqui is an interdisciplinary artist based in Tkaronto interested in collapsing dichotomies such as belonging in unbelonging, single time becoming whole time, and weaving disparate edges with unconnected intersections. She creates and uses sound, text, visuals, installations, food, excavated material, and so on. In her work, she is drawn to the non-things—fragments, shadows, reflections, suggestions—or the empty, discarded, and abandoned without place or order.
