Moslem Mansouri was born in Iran in 1964. During the years 1993-1999 he secretly made six documentary films titled: Close-up Long Shot, The Trial, Shamlou: Poet of Freedom, The Epitaph, Utopia and The Extras. In
2004 Mansouri founded the Iranian Underground Cinema. In 2008 he made The Final Word, his second film about Ahmad Shamlou, the Iranian poet. In 2016 he made The Grapes Of Wrath about anti-government demonstrations in Iran. In 2018 he completed
the documentary Naked Solitude, a film about the life and works of Sadegh Hedayat.
