The films in this program examine how images, sounds, and personal media shape intimacy over time. Moving between home movies, found photographs, testimony, and daily acts of documenting, these works return to images that continue to accrue new meanings long after they were made. Rather than treating cameras and archives as passive tools of documentation, they ask how acts of recording create ways of relating to one another, to history, and ourselves.

A revolutionary history is pieced together from silence, testimony, and disappearance. Found photographs reveal the afterlives of political images as they fade and circulate over decades. A chosen name takes shape through self-made images and the care of a community. A child's camera gathers a long gone world of family connection, transforming everyday moments into an enduring gesture of attention.

Together, these films suggest that intimacy is not simply captured by images but produced through them. Looking becomes a form of care, recording becomes a way of staying together, and the moving image becomes a space in which relationships continue to unfold long after the camera stops rolling.

A Bundle of Silences is an experimental documentary that circles around the 1983 Águila Blanca heist, when the Puerto Rican pro-independence revolutionary group Los Macheteros expropriated $7 million from a Wells Fargo depot in Hartford, Connecticut. Through fragments of testimony, archival textures, botanical prints, and images processed with tobacco leaves and coffee, the film situates their story within a longer history of Puerto Rican migration.

Sofía Gallisá Muriente is a Puerto Rican visual artist whose practice claims the freedom of historical agency, proposing mechanisms for remembering and reimagining. Her works employ text, image, sound and archive as medium and subject, exploring their poetics and politics. She is currently part of In Minor Keys by Koyo Kouoh, the main exhibition of the 61st Venice Biennale.
