The seven films in our closing program hover above, in and around death with reflections on state violence, imperialism and environmental catastrophe amidst the current genocide in Palestine, among other sites of struggle. We will gather, we will mourn, and we will remember. This program is dedicated to Tomonari Nishikawa (1969-2025).

the talking camera that talks for those who makes other meditates on visuality through archival images that appear when searching "US-Mexico Border" taken and disseminated by reporters and newscasters in the USA. Through colour bias, audiovisual feedback, and critical dislocations, “the talking camera” reveals the tensions inherent to acts of image-making when visuality precedes the capturing of the image itself. -VZ

vida zamora [b.1998; puebla] is a transdisciplinary artist in constant errancy. her compositions are (in) continuous reification and disarticulate well-rehearsed formations in their insistence for alterity: they expresses through vernaculars and read as assemblages.

vida is currently an mfa candidate at r.i.s.d. with a full-merit fellowship. they are a m.i.c.a. [md] alumn, and a uniondocs [ny] collaborative studio fellow. her work has been exhibited in programs at diffusion [canada], millennium film workshop [ny], uniondocs [ny], fisura [mexico], badnām [india], and perfect lovers [nc] by curators such as the re:assemblage collective, michellè st. michel, dylan angel and victoria bouloubasis.

vida is a member of payá, an artist duo with anna fern, which received support from the foundation for contemporary art [ny] in 2025. [↗]
